Frequently asked questions
The dispatch time will vary depending on the product you have bought. "Bespoke Bewitchments" (Made to Order nails) vary depending on queue times but generally we aim to dispatch within 1-2 weeks, this is not always guaranteed during busier periods.
When buying a made to order product we need to allow time to make and package the nails. Items are made in order of when they were purchased but you can purchase a "Priority Potion" to jump the queue if you need them for a certain date sooner than normal.
"Instant Incantations" (Ready to ship sets) and sizing kits will be sent within 1-3 working days.
Postage within the UK is sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24. Royal Mail estimates delivery within 1-2 working days.
International postage is sent via Royal Mail International Tracked, Royal Mail estimates delivery within 2 weeks however this is not guaranteed.
Yes! We absolutely love to make custom sets whether it's for an occasion or you've seen a picture you would like recreating.
You can order your custom design here. Please send an email to info@theholynail.com or a DM on Instagram @theholynailuk with any pictures/a description of what you would like and we will get back to you with any ideas/let you know which price tier your design will be in.
There are a couple of ways to find your correct size, we highly recommend you do this before ordering as we are unable to send out additional sizes.
The best ways to find your perfect sizes is either to try a Sizing Kit. Just add it onto your nail order and we will post it out to your first. Then send us an email to info@theholynail.com or Instagram DM to @theholynailuk with your order number and sizes. We will then save them to your account for any future orders.
For International orders, please place the sizing kit in a separate order as there is an additional shipping fee.
You will receive one of each nail in the Sizing Kit, numbered for you to try. Not all of our shapes are universal in size so please try a sizing kit in all shapes you want to order.
If you do not wish to order a sizing kit or want to order for someone else, try a set of 24 mixed sizes, these are designed to fit anyone. The nails are also numbered beneath the tip so you can make a note of your sizes for next time.
You will need an adhesive to apply the nails. We have a couple of options to choose from:
- Glue - A 2g bottle of nail glue, enough glue for a few applications.
Nail glue is a strong adhesive method and is best for longer day to wear or if you want a strong hold. With good nail prep you can expect glue to hold for 1-2 weeks, this varies from person to person
- Adhesive Nail Tabs - One sheet of 20 sticky tabs, suitable for one use only.
Adhesive tabs are great for 1-2 day wear if you want to be able to easily remove the nails and reuse them. They cause little to no damage to your nails or the press ons
With any method of application prepping your nails first is the best way to make your false nails adhere well, stay on for longer and have your manicure looking at it's best. Check out our tutorial below
How to prep your nails:
1. Remove any nail varnish including base coats
2. Trim your nails short
3. Push back cuticles with cuticle pusher
4. Buff over your nails to remove the shine and any skin around the cuticle on the nail plate, ideally with a buffing block but if not a light grit nail file
5. Wipe away any dust ideally with an alcohol pad, at this point you can also use a primer or dehydrator if you want to make an extra dry surface for your falsies to adhere to, this will create a stronger bond but it is not necessary

If you have not already prepped your nails, please follow "Step 1 - Prep" above.
Once you have prepped your nails you are now ready to apply them, please follow the steps below. There are many tutorials on youtube with guidance and visual instructions on applying false nails, this is a good idea for first timers.
To apply with nail glue:
1. Test your false nails (without glue first) against your natural nails to find the right size for each nail. Once you have the right sizes, line them up in the same order as will be applied to each nail so you can quickly find the right size
2. Hold the nail glue with the nib facing upwards and cut the tip off
3. Ensure your nails are clean and dry. Let a small amount of nail glue drip onto either the false nail or your natural nail, do not squeeze too hard as too much glue will flood your cuticles, the glue will spread
4. Press the false nail onto your natural nail for 5 seconds, ensuring it is straight when applying pressure
5. Once all nails are applied you can apply cuticle oil or hand cream, do not use this before application as the nails need to be dry for the glue to adhere well
To apply with adhesive nail tabs:
1. Test your false nails (without glue first) against your natural nails to find the right size for each nail. Once you have the right sizes, line them up in the same order as will be applied to each nail so you can quickly find the right size
2. Peel the sizes of tabs that look right for the false nail size off the clear sheet, leaving the tab cover on. Apply the nail tab to the back inside of the false nail ensuring none of the tab is coming showing at the front
3. Ensure your nails are clean and dry. Peel off the nail tab cover and press the false nail
down onto your natural nail for 5 seconds, make sure it is straight when applying pressure
4. Once all nails are applied you can apply cuticle oil or hand cream, do not use this before application as the nails need to be dry for the glue to adhere well
We offer a wide range of shapes that are up to date with current trends, made to order nails can be made in virtually any shape and there is a guide in the listing photos to show the length and shapes available. There is more information available on Shapes & Sizing here.
If you have a certain shape in mind that I do not offer we will do our best to make it, please get in contact first to ask and leave a note in the special requests section when purchasing.
Yes absolutely! We are happy to make adjustments for you. Please try our Sizing Kit to test out the shape and size you need. We number the nails in the sizing kit so just make a note of the numbers you require for each nail, select "custom size" and leave a note of your sizes in the special requests section.
Some shapes are more suitable for wider nails: Oval, Curved Square, Square & Coffin generally fit those with wider thumbs. Rounded & Squoval are more narrow and may not fit those with wider thumbs.
The longer you have your nails on, the easier they are to remove. For short term wear Adhesive Gel Tabs are a great option as they are easy to remove and leave little damage. For longer term wear we recommend nail glue as it is stronger.
To remove the nails we recommend soaking your hands in hot soapy water (you can also add cuticle or coconut oil to help the process and nourish the skin) for around 10-20 minutes. This will loosen the glue so you can gently pry them up from the sides under the nail until it safely "pops" off.

I have found that the vast majority of people with gel allergies have no issues with our press on nails and that they are an excellent option for them. Gel allergies generally occur during the application stage when the product is uncured. Because the gel on our press ons is already cured when you receive them, you are not going through the chemical process of curing. The press on also provides a barrier between yourself and the gel.
Nail glue works for some people with allergies but is not suitable for those with acrylate allergies. If you do not have an acrylate allergy, we recommend doing a patch test on one nail (closer to the tip so you can trim it off if you need to). A dermatologist can do further testing to find out which chemicals you are allergic to.
Our adhesive tabs are the safest option for allergy sufferers as they are very easy to remove and leave no residue.
This is at your discretion, we cannot make any guarantees and only a doctor can advise whether they will be safe for you but is based on previous experience.

We are unable to provide refunds or exchanges on made to order products.
Returns are accepted on Ready to Dispatch products within 14 days. Items must be unworn and not removed from packaging. Buyer pays return postage.
